Key Responsibilities:

Creating structural drawings (plans, sections and details) for residential, commercial, and industrial structures.

Revising drawings based on instructions from engineers and/or clients.

Working closely with engineers to produce drawings for cold formed steel, wood, siding, solar, concrete, and structural steel.

Performing site visits to review site conditions and take measurements.
-
Relaying site visit information back to Engineers.
-
Preparing quotes for residential clients.
-
Creating small designs for wood, concrete, and steel construction.
Qualifications:
-
Engineering Technologist diploma or an equivalent diploma from a Technical School Program.

Proficiency using Autodesk AutoCad software.
-
An ability to produce drawings with great attention to detail.

Knowledge of building codes (OBC & NBC) and relative field terminology.

Able to work with minimal supervision.
-
1 year drafting experience is an asset.

A good understanding of construction drawings.

Ability to change tasks throughout the day. Handle various projects at the same time to meet timelines or client’s requests.

Intermediate Structural Steel Detailer - B.I.M. (Building Information Modeling)

Job description:
Working with the project manager to prepare structural steel & miscellaneous metals shop drawings, order lists, and erection drawings to facilitate the manufacturing and erection process for each element within a structure. Preparing clear, complete, and accurate details from architectural and structural drawings, sketches, notes, and contract drawings. Creating 3D models using building information modeling of various steel structures and coordinate with clients at different stages of projects.
Qualifications:
-
3-5 years of experience detailing with Tekla Structures
-
Diploma in Drafting Technology from a recognized educational institution.

Proficient with Autodesk AutoCAD software.

Working knowledge of steel structures and proficient in reading construction drawings.

Accuracy when working with measurements and dimensions.
